Bananas. Not sure about that.

When I don't post for a few days, it seems like there is so much to say, and so I just dump it all out rather than compose a real post. Again this time, there is so much to tell. Graeme is away for a few days at a conference. We're doing ok, although I keep thinking it's Tuesday since he left on Saturday morning. I've been trying to have some social event to do each day so that I can talk to adults. Kate and Westley aren't the best conversationalists. Today we went to yoga. (Kate loves it. She laughs and squeals through most of it.) Tomorrow we'll go for a walk with some mama friends.

On to the disjointed part of the post.

Kate got a high chair on Friday. She seems to like it. It's nice to be able to have her higher up when I'm working in the kitchen. She can watch much better.


Today we tried a new food: bananas. She didn't seem very impressed.


She eats very little during our food times. A spoon full or two at the most. But it's fun. That's the whole point for now.

I had to go to Walmart today. I hate Walmart. I had to get something from them last spring for Primal Quest, and before that it had been years and years since I'd had to set foot in one. But it came down to that. Why, you may ask? Because Target failed me. And Babies R Us before that. Grrr.

I know you can get basic, cheap stuff (I was looking for a diaper pail and one of those back seat mirrors so we can see her in her rear facing car seat) but Target and BRU only had fancy, annoying ones when I know that there are simple ones somewhere out there. It came down to Walmart. It's a sad day.

Yay for craigslist

Today I got a Medela Pump in Style Breast Pump (usually about $250-$300 new) for $50. And I got our crib way back when for $40. Both on Craigslist. Oh, and I got a batch of cloth diapers (FuzziBunz to be specific) as well. Hooray to Freecycle also, where I've gotten a boppy pillow and a change pad - both free of course.

Nesting? Who, me? (plus belly shot)

Last week I organized the closet in Baby Texan's room, and I've also done some other decorating/organizing. Cleary, in the first picture, you can see that the crown molding is still not up. And there is no crib bedding yet, so I'm obviously not in FULL nesting mode. I haven't started doing the laundry, for example (although there is a pile to be done.)

We assembled the crib. Cool, eh?

I'm planning to move and paint the book shelf, I just haven't decided what colour to paint it yet. I'm leaning towards white, since there are already lots of colours in the room and white looks so night against the green walls.
