On Saturday I got a new vacuum. Not just an vacuum, a Dyson Slim. I found a really good price, and I have been cursing our vacuum for a year. We got a few rugs for the bedrooms, and I haven't been able to get them actually clean since we got them. Our vacuum was so useless, I would vacuum the whole thing twice, in two directions, and it would still be covered in dog hair.
The amount of hair and lint and dirt that came out of the carpets with the new vacuum was DIS-GUS-TING. And there wasn't a dog hair to be seen. I am way way too excited about a vacuum.

we love our dyson SO much, i can't even tell you. every time i use it, i have to say out loud again how much i love it.
why did you get the little slim one? isn't the cannister really little? or do you like how handy it is?
i don't consider myself a housewife on any, any, any grounds (certainly katja would be more deserving of the title in terms of her cleaning abilities) -- and i still love my vacuum cleaner!
I am completely jealous. I would love a Dyson. We have central vac here and I hate it. The thing was here when my parents bought the place 23 years ago. It's long out lived it's usefulness. Even our Shark carpet sweeper picks up more.
I LUV our Dyson. And I know what you mean about the first time you use it. We've had ours at least two years, and I'm still amazed at what it will pull up.

Ada, I got the slim one mostly because it was on sale, which made it much cheaper than the regular sized one. And our closets are pretty small, so it's easy to store.
The dirt bin is small. I had to empty it three times on one rug, but that might say more about how disgusting the rug was than the size of the dirt canister.
where is the sale? I've coveted for a while...
